A tremendous night for lucid dreams

July 19, 2008

Last night was a tremendous night for dreams, and in particular, lucid dreams. At some other time I'll describe the dreams themselves, but right now (for my own sake) I just want to describe the events leading up to the dreams.

I was very tired in the afternoon, so I took off of work early, picked up dinner at an oriental restaurant, ate that dinner around 5 p.m., had a mojito, and was in bed by 7 p.m.

The first dreams started during that time, but then I woke up around 9:45 p.m., thinking that I heard the phone ring (it didn't). I stepped outside, saw that there was a full moon, and I was back in bed within 15 minutes. I couldn't fall asleep right away, so I went through a bodily-relaxation process, relaxing each body part, one at a time, until I was thoroughly relaxed. My mind was also quiet and clear.

I was very relaxed, and laid there for a little while, but I couldn't fall asleep. Eventually I rolled over onto my right side, and the rest, well, I'll follow up with that as soon as I can.
