Saturday afternoon lucid dreams

October 4, 2008

The OBEs and lucid dreams are on a roll right now. This afternoon I took a short "nap", which ended up lasting almost 2.5 hours. At least the last hour of that time was spend exploring a lucid, multi-layered dream.

Before laying down I did the usual thing, putting a card that I couldn't see up on top of the refrigerator, and after the initial 45 minutes of listening to a recording from the Monroe Institute, I spent a lot of time drifting in and out of sleep, trying to get out of my body to see the card on the refrigerator.

I couldn't get out of my body this time, but while trying to deal with the usual confusing multi-layer dream scenario I did "see" several cards, but this wasn't what I wanted to accomplish, and I didn't place any stock in the cards I saw.

Even without being able to get out of my body this time, I had a lot of fun with this dream sequence. As usual with the multi-layered dreams, I would "wake up" from one dream, but after a little while I'd realize that I wasn't really fully awake in the physical world, just stuck in another dream world that seems real. After a little while I'd think "Damn, I'm not really awake", and then I'd wake myself up fully. But wanting to get out of body, I kept trying to hang around this state, eventually falling back to sleep, and starting the cycle all over again.
