Glowing light coming from the room next to me

April 29, 2011

I became conscious in a lucid dream, and I was working on a computer in my bedroom, with a MASH episode playing at the same time. In the hallway outside my room I saw a green glowing light. I ignored it at first, then after thinking it reminded me of something from my childhood, I decided to go check it out.

By this time I was laying in my bed, so I got up out of bed, went to the hallway, and turned right into the room where the light was coming from. In the physical world this is where my bathroom is, but in the dream this was another bedroom, and I found my wife laying in bed, on her right side, cradling an alarm clock under the covers.

She said something about the time that I can't remember, and then said something about a tea and/or restaurant that had something to do with the word "different", possibly as simple as "something different".

I sat next to her for a few moments, and then began myself being pulled away. I quickly said, "I'm sorry, I have to go back now", and was pulled away back to my bed.

I wasn't awake however, because as I thought that I should record this dream, I kept trying to do so, but every time I picked up my phone to make a recording, I was only picking up a phone in my dream, and trying to make the recording there. I could tell I wasn't awake because the wallpaper on my dream phone was different than the wallpaper on my phone when I'm awake.

I finally woke myself up completely and made the recording at 2:16am on April 28, 2011. The dream itself probably happened around 2:10am.

I have no explanation for the dream.

Preparation

I didn't make any sort of preparation for this dream to happen, other than falling asleep in my recliner around 9pm, waking up around 11:30pm, then coming to bed after brushing me teeth, and not being able to fall asleep for a long time. I fell asleep in the recliner while watching an old Columbo episode. I was very tired after several days of hard work, and just let myself fall asleep as the show played.
