Just can’t achieve “mind awake, body asleep”

June 2, 2016

Last night provided a great example of why I haven’t had any OBEs in a while: I laid in bed, starting listening to the Monroe/Hemi-Sync “Discovery #1” audio recording, and the next thing I knew, I was waking up at the end of recording #3.

That sort of thing never happened when I was healthy. The worst case back then was that I would fall asleep and then wake up at the end of #1, but last night I slept half of the way through #1, all of the way through #2, and all of the way through #3.

To have an OBE you need to follow Robert Monroe’s advice and be in a state where your “mind is awake and your body is asleep,”but possibly because of my current health issues, I just can’t do that any more. The best I have been able to do lately is to have some dreams where I am flying, but even then they aren’t really lucid dreams, just dreams where I notice that I’m flying. I also can’t remember most of my dreams, and all of this is because I am just too darned tired, even if I sleep 10-12 hours a night.

Hopefully I’ll be able to get back to where I used to be, but for now, that’s the way it is. I’ll keep trying, focusing on the process, and hopefully one day it will all start working again.
