“Change one detail and all of life changes” (The Dead Zone)

September 11, 2016

The first thing about seeing your own death is that it’s humbling. I mean, here you are, going about your own business and then “Bam!,” the message is that you’re going to die.

The second thing about seeing your own death is that it changes your behavior, or at least it can change your behavior. I know that I have been eating differently ever since I saw my death, and since I saw that it happens in my current apartment, I’ve also changed the way I approach the spot in my apartment where I collapse and die. I thought after time I wouldn’t think about it, but I can’t seem to get away from it. Every once in a while I end up in that area, but eventually it occurs to me, “This is where you die,” and I move away.

Today this reminded me of the quote from the tv series The Dead Zone, “Change one detail and all of life changes.” If you’ve ever seen the second episode of that series, you know what I’m referring to.
