Consciousness endures
Ah, a nice morning of pleasant dreams, a terrific way to start any day. I was glad I could reach over, turn off the alarm clock, and go back to sleep until the dreams were over. I may not be incredibly wealthy, but many times I do think I am a fortunate person.
That being said ... the real reason for writing today's post is this quote from Iyengar's book, "Light on Life":
"What mind is and does dies with us. But consciousness is that aspect of mind, the envelope of continual awareness, which endures ..."
Aborted attempt to make a Facebook entry while asleep
Bummer, I'm pretty sure I could have made a blog or Facebook entry last night while my body was sleeping, but unfortunately when I tried to do it my heartrate took off like crazy, and I had to abort the attempt.

The nature of the universe
There is a Zen phrase that goes something like this:
"The nature of the universe is created by mind alone."
There are days like today when I wonder how far this phrase should be taken?
But then again, anything I think about this quote would just be thinking, lol. (There is another important Zen phrase: "Zen mind is before thinking.")
