Living with gallstones

One thing I've learned about my digestive system is that I have a problem with my gallbladder, specifically having gallstones.

Rather than gripe about them, I thought I'd write about them, in this article on my gallstones diet advice.

In other news, I've had some wonderful dreams the last few nights, and I look forward to resuming my night sojourns soon.

Out of commission

A quick note: I'm sorry I haven't written much here lately. In short, something has gone wrong with my digestive system, and I've now lost 30 pounds in six weeks. Hopefully I'll be better soon, but I don't expect to make any more posts here for a short time.

Unfortunately my meditative skills are no help in isolating the problem, though I have to say, deep relaxation and healing meditations do make me feel a little better.

Until I return, know that I'm rooting for you in your OBE adventures, and/or in your Zen and Yoga practices.

Namaste.

Stuck in the simulator

Wow, something different every day ... I just took an afternap nap, and when I "woke up", I thought I heard a noise, like maybe someone knocking on the front door. As I tried to get up, I was having some problems with the sheets. As I fought with them, I thought I heard a knocking again, and I thought, "C'mon Al, get out of bed and see what's going on", and I struggled some more. I've been sick lately, and a little weak, so I thought maybe I was having a weakness problem.

Are there spiritual places in the world?

Last night, before going to bed, I wondered if some places in the world are truly more spiritual than others?

A primary reason for wondering about this was me thinking about driving up to Talkeetna, Alaska again. Never in my life have I had as many OBE adventures as I did during the summer of 2007, when I lived in Talkeetna.

Meditating in the ER

Unfortunately I ended up in the ER today. I'll skip what I was doing there for now, because I'd just like to focus on two emotions I experienced there today.

Carl Jung on the human soul

A friend of mine gave me a copy of a book titled "The Reincarnationist" by M.J. Rose, and at the beginning of the book there is this quote from Carl Jung:

I simply believe that some part of the human self or soul is not subject to the laws of space and time.

That's a wonderful quote that I would like to adjust just slightly:

I simply believe that some part of the human self or soul is not subject to the laws of space and time as we know them today.

$4,000 a day hospital visit

Wow, one of my relatives was in the hospital recently for four days of "observation", and the bill came back for a whopping $16,000! Doesn't $4,000 a day to have a nurse check in on you twice a day seem just a little obscene?! This person wasn't even connected to any machines. Where the heck does all that money go???

Alternate universes

There are days when I have lucid dreams that I can easily believe there are alternate universes. Today is one of those days.

I've been sick lately, with the stomach flu or something like it, so I took off from work most of the day yesterday and again today. Around noon today I laid down, and very soon found myself in another world, a world I know, and actually feel comfortable in.

OBE events and "expectation"

The concept of "expectation" is very important to your ability to have an OBE or lucid dream. In short, you must tell yourself it's perfectly normal to have an OBE, millions of people have had them before you, and millions will have them in the future.

Raines ... best ... tv ... show ... ever

Wow, I just found the tv show Raines on Hulu. Easily one of my favorite tv series of all time, and certainly my favorite tv series that only lasted one year. Thousands of people (including myself) petitioned NBC to bring it back for a second year, but it never happened. :(
