Two days of fun lucid dreams
The last few nights have been fun. I've been drinking a little red wine each night before going to bed, and the last two nights I've slept about 4-5 hours, at which point I'm awake enough to start the new day. However, I then lay down, try to fall back to sleep, and also just try to focus on the present moment, and as a result, each morning I've had hours of fun, lucid dreams.
Dream of a huge explosion
I just woke up from a massive explosion in a dream, and was very glad to find my left arm still attached to my body, because in the dream I'm not sure it was still there.
Ongoing dreams of my mother's relatives
I'm not sure what's going on with my dreams lately, but for the last few weeks I've been dreaming of many of the deceased relatives of my mom's side of the family. Like the dream from this morning, they're often gathered together in a room, and I look around and identify them all, like "That's Uncle Paul", or "That's my mom's father's brother" (sorry, can't remember his name). I wish I had more details on these dreams, but I haven't been sleeping too well with all the traveling lately, and last night was the first night I've had lucid dreams and multi-layer dreams in a while.
Dreams of the family, and 11 people drowning
Lots of packing and moving activity lately (I'm moving back to Alaska next week), but I just wanted to note lots of dreams of the family lately, and the thought this morning I had as I was waking up of 11 people drowning. FWIW, the family dreams have included my father, who passed away 16 years ago.
Dream follows real-world event by 30 hours
Last night I had another incident where a dream followed something back here in the physical world by the 24-48 hour time window I've mentioned here before. (Actually, earlier I wrote that dreams follow physical world events by 36-48 hours.) Thursday night, probably around 9pm, I watched an episode of Fringe that involved both small and large worms, and then last night (Friday night to Saturday morning) I had a dream involving worms.
A little flying in dreams again
Yippee, a little low-level flying in my dreams again last night. :) It has been a little while since I did this last, and it's always a great feeling and experience. The dreams throughout the night were all action/adventure dreams that I couldn't make sense of, but the flying was great.
Falling asleep is like having two preset radio stations
Wow, many thanks to a friend who helped me out with this analogy.
What I go through sometimes when I go to sleep -- as in last night's dream sequence -- is what would happen to you if you were in a dark room, listening to a radio station with your eyes closed, and then someone presses a preset button and changes the radio to another channel. Immediately you are listening to a totally different broadcast.
Dreams of a song, being drilled in the head, and a dog named Luther
I was a little sick yesterday, and also felt very "ungrounded" as they would say at TMI, more 'there' than 'here'. If you've never felt ungrounded, common descriptions include feeling "out of it", inability to concentrate, a feeling that you can't wake up, and very likely a desire to vomit. I had all of those yesterday, so I figured last night would be pretty entertaining.
A long night of violent dreams
Besides my tornado-like weather dream last night, everything else was also violent in one form or another. First, a recurring dream of two men I interpreted to be spies meeting at a white, round table. They exchanged pleasantries, but they would soon try to kill each other.
A schizophrenia-like area of sleepland
Not feeling well (ongoing headache), I went to bed before 8pm last night. Somewhere during the night, before 2am, I was in a strange area of sleep consciousness where I'm wide awake, and I know I'm asleep and laying in my apartment, but there are other very real 'people' around that really aren't there. Call them hallucinations or schizophrenia-like experiences, but they are as real as this computer.
