Lucid dream of an astral event ... and a ghost
(I'm going to try to describe what just happened, but frankly, this was a little unusual, even for me, so I'll just see if I can report this experience as it happened.)
I gained consciousness during a dream state, and found myself laying in a bed. I didn't know where I was, but the bed was set up so that my head and upper torso were propped up, such as in a bed whose top half could be raised, or perhaps my upper body had some pillows propped underneath it.
Notes from another world (lucid dream?)
Unable to "wake up" today after a long night of work, I finally decided to take an afternoon nap. After a short nap I felt a little better, but decided to see if I could lay down again and see if I could stay on the borderline of sleep and wakefulness.
Well, that didn't work, but I did get "wake up" within the dream "somewhere else". As usual, I wake up within the dream, and there are things going on around me, and I have to figure out what's going on.
Faux OBE
Early this morning, just before 2am local time, I finally had something close to an OBE, my first real event since moving to Alaska. However, I call it a "Faux OBE", because it was a mix of an OBE and a lucid dream. I was floating around the ceiling like it was an OBE, but everything else about it was more like a lucid dream.
OBE / lucid dream notes
Here's how this "Faux OBE" event happened:
Alternate universes
There are days when I have lucid dreams that I can easily believe there are alternate universes. Today is one of those days.
I've been sick lately, with the stomach flu or something like it, so I took off from work most of the day yesterday and again today. Around noon today I laid down, and very soon found myself in another world, a world I know, and actually feel comfortable in.
Lucid dream, Follow Me, family across a divide
In the closest thing I've had to an OBE in a while, later tonight I need to make a number of updates to my devdaily.com website, so I decided to take an afternoon nap. When I laid down, I decided to listen to one of the Monroe recordings I have, and I listened to it until I fell asleep.
Lucid dreams start, and Peggy Lee's Fever
The lucid dreams finally started up again last night, so hopefully the OBEs will start again soon as well.
More sucking sounds and lucid dreams
Not much time to write today, but I wanted to note another experience of the "sucking" sounds as I was falling asleep last night, and another very realistic lucid dream.
After the long afternoon nap, I had problems falling asleep last night, and after about an hour of waiting to fall asleep and trying some meditation, the sucking sounds started while I laid propped up against the bean bag chair, and I knew I'd be asleep soon.
An unintentional New Year's OBE attempt
Wow, a nice way to start the new year, the old-time vibrations and an attempted OBE on Day 1 of the new year -- woot!
The setup
I spent new year's eve alone, so I drank some champagne starting at around 7pm while I called several friends and family members to wish them well. The last call ended around 10:15pm, and after watching a little tv, I was in bed by 11pm. I woke up briefly when I heard the neighbors celebrating the new year, and went right back to sleep.
Fun lucid dreams; note about dream recall
Hours of funny lucid dreams this morning. For some reason I've been going back to my aerospace days during dreams lately, or more accurately, during the dreams I can remember.
It occurred to me as I wrote that last line that I may have given people the impression that I remember all of my dreams. To be clear, that's not the case (especially when alcohol is involved).
Long lucid dream at another house
I slept over at a friend's house again last night, and though I didn't have an OBE this time, I had a long, lucid dream. It started in the back porch and yard of a large house, then morphed into my youngest sister and I fooling around with some things at a store, and seeing some weird futuristic toys, like a bungee-jumping duck, if that makes any sense.
