Why my right foot hurts

June 4, 2015

After 20 hours I finally remembered why my right foot hurts so much.

Last night as I was falling asleep I remembered that during the previous night I thought it would be a good idea to get out of bed while I was still asleep. (I promised myself I wouldn’t do that any more, but briefly forgot about that promise.)

As soon as I stepped out of bed I hit my foot against one of the legs of the bed. I couldn’t feel all of the pain but I knew it hurt, and I thought, “This is a bad idea, go back to bed.” So I got back into bed and forgot that I had done that until I got back into the same mental state last night.

It’s funny/interesting how you can’t remember certain things until you’re back in that same mental state. I remember hearing that people who are smart but do poorly on tests should study just like they’re taking a test so they feel the same pressure, and hence are in the same mental state. Trying to remember things that you did while you were asleep is similar to that.
